Susan Riley, LCSW
Susan Riley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is passionate about helping clients improve their mental health. She finds it heartbreaking to see anyone suffer needlessly knowing that there are absolutely ways to feel better.
Susan received her Master of Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington. She has worked in outpatient and inpatient mental health in behavioral health hospitals. She has experience in group and individual therapy and family sessions along with mental health crisis assessment. She also has experience with domestic violence counseling and shelters and has been a facilitator for grief support groups.
Susan has worked with a wide variety of races, religions, education, levels, diagnoses, ages and genders. She knows that mental health issues do not discriminate.
Susan practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients learn to challenge negative and irrational thoughts that make them anxious and depressed without realizing why. She uses mindfulness to help clients focus on the present to fight anxiety and enjoy life abundantly. She uses Solution Focused Therapy to help clients with feeling stuck in a situation by focusing on personal strengths. She helps clients with Goal Setting in baby steps that can help with the overwhelmed feeling that keeps clients
from accomplishing goals.
Susan offers Christian counseling upon request which can be incorporated at any level desired by the
client.
Susan utilizes many theories and therapies to fit each client’s specific needs. She believes that just
having someone to talk to, in confidentiality, about anything, can make a huge difference for clients
working through difficult times.
Susan only provides Telehealth Therapy and is not available for in-person sessions.
