Psychosocial Assessment and Report:
The psychosocial is required each time a CPS client is referred for counseling services. Questions are targeted toward attaining valuable clinical and biopsychosocial information that will inform caseworkers and clinicians about integral components of clients' lives. Children Needing Counseling or Play Therapy
Which kids are covered by a 2054 authorization?
Children covered by Traditional Medicaid or a Medicaid Managed Care Organization can be referred to InSight with 2054 authorization.
Kids in Foster Care:
DFPS prohibits 2054 authorizations for kids in foster care covered by Superior Fostercare STAR Health Insurance. Caseworkers can refer children who have Superior Fostercare STAR Health, however, they are treated as private clients. This means documentation does not include DFPS monthly reports and the relationship with the caseworker is contingent upon approval from the legal guardian.
Please contact us at (512) 704-8349 to refer foster kids for private therapy. You can also email us at [email protected].
Play Therapy:
Play therapy is a specialized therapeutic modality used with younger children or children who are less verbal. It allows kids to express their feelings and work through anxiety, sadness, anger and other difficult emotions through play. The therapists role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where kids are free to express the full spectrum of emotions. Play therapists interpret feelings and help kids work through issues using special toys (therapeutic tools) that facilitate expression.
InSight has providers who do play therapy on a limited basis. Please inquire about play therapy availability before sending a referral.
