Lauren Garfield, LMFT
Lauren Garfield is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Texas and California. Lauren has served as a therapist in schools, as well as the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department at Kaiser Permanente. She has experience helping others with concerns including depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, stress, parenting, grief and loss, building healthy relationships, and improving self-esteem. Lauren is particularly passionate about helping clients to decrease and manage anxiety, supporting parents and their children in building positive bonds, and helping individuals who are confronted with difficult life transitions. Lauren integrates several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, and Humanistic therapies, to help clients build insight, develop new ways of approaching difficult situations, and experience a different way of relating to others.
Lauren earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Music, from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. She also gained research experience in the Life-span Development Lab at Stanford University. Lauren is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
