Katrina Alexander, PhD

Dr. Katrina AIexander earned her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Jackson
State University in Jackson Mississippi. She also has a Master of Science in Forensic
Psychology from Prairie View A&M University. She has specialized training and
experience in conducting forensic/disability evaluations and in the assessment and
treatment of adjudicated youth and adults as well as first responders and Veterans who
have experienced various types of trauma. Her specialization is treatment of sexual and
combat trauma; however, she is comfortable working with individuals who have
experienced various forms of abuse, victimization and life-threatening events.
Dr. Alexander has over 15 years of experience evaluating and treating individuals in
outpatient clinics, residential facilities and institutional settings. She believes in the
power of recovery and healing from traumatic experiences. Dr. Alexander frequently
utilizes modern technology and encrypted social platforms to see patients. Her research
and treatment interests include the utilization of technology in the advancement of
mental health treatment, the psychological dynamics of criminal victimization and
perpetration, the effects of gender socialization and perceived gender inequality on the
mental health of African American women, and the etiology and treatment of PTSD and
trauma related disorders in sexual assault survivors of all genders. Not only is Dr.
Alexander passionate about helping others heal from traumatic experiences,she also
has a passion for traveling, cooking, yoga, running and watching basketball. Go Rockets!
