April Phillips, LCSW

April L. Phillips is a Bilingual Clinician who uses a blend of treatment modalities to not only promote mental and emotional healing and symptom management, but also to promote a lifestyle of overall health, wellness, peace and focus. My holistic approach to healthy and happy living includes identifying derailing lifestyle practices, trauma, triggers, behaviors, fears and thought patterns, and helping the client to replace them with habits that increase one's pursuit and enjoyment of their best life possible.
This treatment model uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, System's Theory, Solution Focused-Therapy, Artistic Expression and basic education about how food, rest, movement, work-life balance, practicing one's faith, and other natural lifestyle choices can greatly improve one's overall health, relationships, mood and productivity.
April Phillips graduated from Alabama A&M University with a Master's Degree in Social Work and was licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 2003. She later completed a post graduate course in Abnormal Psychology at Florida Atlantic University in 2005. Since that time she has served as a trauma therapist for adults and children, taught anger management and parenting classes, provided couple's counseling, family counseling, therapeutic treatment groups to include domestic and intimate partner violence, and worked effectively with the seriously mentally ill, and those struggling with depression, anger, anxiety and a general lack of enjoyment for life.
April has flexible in-office appointments and also has slots available for in-home counseling in the North Austin area (North of Parmer Lane) as well as Round Rock, Hutto, Taylor, Pflugerville and Georgetown.
